This year, the band has been hard at work in their funk dojo, practicing their musical martial arts and working on some new original material to deliver to the masses. What has come out of those sessions is a collection of singles in a series dubbed Ninja Cuts. In lieu of releasing a proper album, the band will release random singles via the Ninja Cuts series throughout the remainder of 2017. Ninja Cuts is set to provide fresh, exciting original music to the scene in small but powerful doses, and its tracks are action-packed funk-fusion at its finest.Watch Roosevelt Collier Lead Members Of Snarky Puppy, Dopapod, & Kung Fu At Brooklyn Comes AliveThe the first Ninja Cut in the series, “Sfvendago,” was released back in July. Today, Kung Fu offers the second installment in the series with the official release of “Scorpion.” Recorded at The Boatyard in Cromwell, Connecticut, the track was written originally by Beau Sasser and showcases the band at its finest. “Scorpion” is characterized by catchy and deep classic funk stylings, tight grooves, and stellar horn features. As noted by guitarist and vocalist Tim Palmieri, “Scorpion is the first original tune by Beau Sasser and the introduction of that slow, deep funk Kung Fu needed.”You can check out the song via Spotify and an official music video by MKDevo below, as well as the group’s upcoming tour dates.last_img
